West Seneca UPK
Hosted at West Seneca EduKids and French Road EduKids
Welcome to UPK at EduKids West Seneca & French Road Centers! We are excited to be starting another year of UPK with West Seneca Schools. We look forward to getting to know you and your child.
Our program is developmentally appropriate and child-centered, with a strong focus on early literacy and mathematics. Our goals are to develop your child’s self-esteem and confidence in learning, socialization, and language development, small and large motor control, listening, and following directions. We strive to provide a strong foundation for your child’s educational success.
We are looking forward to a wonderful year of UPK together! Your child will learn, play, and discover the world around them through engaging activities, both in person and remotely. Here are some other important reminders for your child’s safety and well-being while attending UPK at EduKids:
- Drop Off and Pick Up: Parents and guardians will drop off and pick up their children at the door of the center. A staff member will take your child’s temperature and escort him/her to the classroom.
- Masks: UPK students are required to wear a mask while on site during UPK hours. Staff will provide staggered mask breaks for the children.
- Snacks: Snacks are provided by EduKids. We are a peanut-free facility and cannot allow any outside food. If you would like to bring something special for your child’s birthday, it MUST be a nonfood item.
- Absences: You must provide a written excuse for your child’s absence for the district. Excuses should include your child’s name, his/her teacher’s name, the date, and the reason for the absence.
- Footwear: Each day, please send your child in sneakers. Dress shoes, flip flops, and sandals are unsafe when your child is on the playground. We will be going outside each day, weather permitting.
- School Closings: Our UPK classroom follows the West Seneca Central Schools calendar and snow day procedures. If the district is closed, there is no UPK that day. EduKids, however, typically remains open and running as usual. Please do not hesitate to call the center in case of confusion.
- Medications: Please notify the director immediately if your child has lifesaving medications. If lifesaving medication is needed to remain on sight, proper documentation will need to be filled out by the child’s physician. This information will be provided by the director.
- Allergies: Please notify the director immediately if your child has any allergies.
Please do not hesitate to call if you have any questions or concerns about UPK. We can be reached at the West Seneca center at (716) 675-4553 and at the French Road Center at (716) 677-4063, Monday through Friday.
Please download this entire UPK packet and return to your Center Director.
