Purple Dinos

The Older Toddler program places an emphasis on organization, choice and cooperation. Your child is now developing cause and effect relationships, sequencing to make sense and increasing communication with expressive and receptive language. Pretend play, extensive story times and sensory explorations that include a listening center, science area and music are all implemented to enhance your child’s early development. Indoor and outdoor activities are also incorporated into the daily routine in order to help build positive self-esteem as well as small and large muscle strength and coordination.

Our schedule (like your toddler) is flexible.

• 6:30 – 8:30: Arrival, breakfast and free play.

• 8:30 – 9:00: Cleanup time, potty and diapers.

• 9:00 – 9:30: Circle time activities, which include: good morning, greeting, song, calendar, weather, theme related story, finger plays and an open-ended discussion of theme of the day.

• 9:30 – 10:00: Hand washing time followed by a mid-morning snack.

• 10:00 – 10:30: Outside activity / Gross motor room time.

• 10:30 – 11:30: Arts & Crafts / Small group choices / Music & Movement.

• 11:30 – 12:00: Hand washing followed by YUMMY lunchtime.

• 12:00 – 12:30: Cleanup time, potty and diapers.

• 12:30 – 1:00: Quiet time with stories and audio books.

• 1:00 – 3:00: Rest time.

• 3:00 – 3:15: Wake-up, potty and diapers.

• 3:15 – 3:30: Hand washing followed by a YUMMY afternoon snack.

• 3:30 – 5:00: Teacher directed activities including outside play, games and time in the gross motor room.

• 5:00 – 6:00: Your toddler prepares to return home with games, puzzles and other quiet activities.

• Our program closes at 6:00PM.
