I am a kindergarten eodactur in Michigan, and feel that pre-k education is a must for the future. I know that states are having trouble funding these kinds of programs, but I hope that somehow they will find a way. I am enjoying your blog and can't wait for your next post.

That is really cool. I agree that literacy in Early Childhood Education is important. As a student at SELU we have to complete a professional development project where we go into schools and have a "buddy bag." This buddy bag contains a book with an activity which relates to the book. It is amazing that we get the opportunity to work with the schools in the surrounding community. I would love to keep the buddy bag system going in the community and make it a must every school year. Any ideas on how to do this? How could we raise money to give books to the schools in the community that cannot afford the books for every grade level in the school?
