Blue Birds

Reading, dramatic play, arts, building blocks and sand and water centers in the classroom, allow for a wide array of activities for your child to engage in either independently or within groups. Teachers organize and lead circle times, which helps your child connect themes and ideas through associated stories, songs, visuals and special events. The beginning preschool program focuses on hands-on experiences that support choice, thinking skills, friendship and creativity. The program also promotes your child’s expression of ideas and presents opportunities for them to use increased skills and knowledge to build self-esteem and comfort.

Our early preschool schedule is flexible.

• 6:30 – 9:00: Our caregivers and teachers welcome your little “Blue Bird” as the play centers open.

• 9:00 – 9:30: Morning snack time.

• 9:30 – 10:00: Circle time activities which include language, planning and specific jobs of the day.

• 10:00 – 10:30: Your child will engage in movement and music.

• 10:30 – 10:45: Outdoor activities and games.

• 10:45 – 11:30: Small group activities, which include literacy and cognitive skill development, fine motor skills and print enrichment, creative art, math and science activities as well as cooperative games.

• 11:30 – 11:45: Cleanup and preparation for lunch.

• 11:45 – 12:15: A YUMMY, family style lunch.

• 12:15 – 1:00: This time is allotted for transition into the afternoon as it includes lunch and classroom cleanup, quiet stories and soft music as your toddler gets ready for rest and naptime.

• 1:00 – 3:00: Rest and naptime.

• 3:00 – 3:15: Wake-up for afternoon snack.

• 3:15 – 3:45: Your child engages in outside activities and playtime.

• 3:45 – 4:15: Each classroom center opens for group choices and playtime.

• 4:15 – 4:45: Afternoon circle where we review the day, read stories, sing songs and plan for the following day at EduKids.

• 4:45 – 6:00: Your child enjoys quiet activities prior to returning home.

• Our program closes at 6:00PM.
